CENTRE MANAGER/ DIRECTOR

Our Centre, operating with 25 approved places, is unlike any other long day care service. Situated on a school site that caters to ‘at risk’ students who have disengaged from their education. We provide an essential service to support young teen mums in continuing their education, participating in parenting programs, and improving their overall health and social well-being. Meanwhile, their infants, toddlers, and children receive quality care and education at the Port Early Learning Centre, which you could head up !

As the Centre Manager you and the team will strive for best practice and an ‘exceeding rating status’ and will have the chance to shape this facility and its day to day services by leading high level educational practices for our children and the centre's operations. Working closely with the school and the Young Parent Centre Manager, you will champion a dynamic integrated community service approach to teenage pregnancy and education within Western Australia. Our early learning service places a strong emphasis on best practice outcomes and is dedicated to delivering high-quality services and lifelong learning opportunities to children, local teen mums, and their families.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience. Applications without these qualifications will not be considered:

  • Proven Director / Manager experience running a medium / large long day care environment
    Proven track record of successful leadership, management and coordination of day to day operations in an education and care setting.
    Experience in managing people, teams and casual, part time and permanent full time staff
    Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or a related field.
    Demonstrated experience working with diverse and at-risk populations, preferably in a community-based setting.
    Strong knowledge and understanding of best practices in early childhood education, including curriculum development, assessment, and child development principles.
    A high level and understanding of ACECQA governance and compliance and how those expectations translate to your own role and duties and that of your team
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and key stakeholders.
    Sound organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
    Resilience and accountability in leading teams and achieving desired outcomes.
    A passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children, families, and the community.

Essential qualifications and certifications:

  • Minimum Diploma in early childhood qualification in accordance with ACECQA
    Desirable to have a postgraduate/tertiary qualification in leadership.
    A willingness to be appointed as a Nominated Supervisor
    Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
    ACECQA approved First Aid Qualifications that includes applying first aid, CPR, emergency asthma management and anaphylaxis.
    Child Protection Qualification approved by State Regulatory Body.
    Completing satisfactorily Port Schools staff code of conduct online training
