Sparx Early Learning Centre is looking for a new Food Coordinator.

We are passionate about the food we serve to the children in our care. We believe in providing nutritious and wholesome meals to the children on a daily basis. We have seasonal menus and design our menu’s and meals using Food Australia.

The role requires an experienced cook, with a similar philosophy, to deliver healthy and nutritionally balanced meals for children aged 0-5 years. The ideal candidate will have a positive can-do attitude and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

The applicant must hold a Cert III in Children’s services or Cert III in Commercial Cookery. The applicant must also hold or be able to obtain a Working With Children Check.

The position is permanent part time, five days a week 20-25hrs. There is the possibility to extend these hours to include Lunchtime cover. Must have a current driver’s license – to collect shopping and purchase fresh fruit and vegetables.

Job responsibilities for this role include:

  • Preparing morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for up to 43 children
  • Meal planning (working within the Australian Dietary Guidelines)
  • Confident in online menu planning and designing
  • Catering for children with allergies and special food requirements
  • Providing families, children and educators with up to date nutritional information.
  • Complete records and monitoring according to the centre’s Food Safety plan. Be prepared with Food Audits – currently held 6monthly.
  • Adhere to food safety standards at all times
  • Ensure a high level of hygiene, health and safety standards are maintained at all times
  • Must be able to work well within a team environment.

Our service is looking for a Qualified educator that is able to work in an afterschool site. It is a split shift and during school holidays would need to work full days. Our service is open from 6.30am to 6.30 pm. The educator would also need to be an SO. Experience in the NQF and current WA regulations in required. About the Role

To be considered for this role you will have:

Relevant tertiary qualification with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience working in an equivalent role

A Working with Children Check and Federal Police Clearance (essential)

Certificate in: First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management

A high level of verbal and written communication skills

Initiative and capacity to work with minimal supervision, as part of a team

A high level of interpersonal skills for liaising at all levels

Advanced written skills including a demonstrated ability to research information and write reports

The ability to:

Direct the planning and implementation of the EYCE Educational Program

Lead the promotion of Health and Safety of all staff and children

Lead the team to build positive relationships with all stakeholders

Lead the effective administration and management of the EYCE strategy

  • Valid Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain).
